DOES THE BOSS OR HR UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU DO IN PAYROLL? USUALLY NOT!

One of the top gripes we get at NZPPA from payroll practitioners is about having decision makers that do not understand payroll making major decisions that impact on the work done in payroll.

This includes payroll reporting to managers that have little or no experience in payroll and what payroll does to HR and other associated parts of the business that set direction or create payments or sign off on payments to be made without consulting with or having any understanding of the full picture of what payroll can and cannot actually do.

NZPPA has developed the following course to help in this area for the purpose of educating non-payroll decision makers in what payroll needs from them and to give an insight and overview of the payroll function.

This course is presented in plain language with participants encouraged to ask questions so they can get a full understanding about payroll and how to get the best results from it and the payroll practitioners that work hard to ensure employees are paid on time and correctly.

PAYROLL FOR NON-PAYROLL PRACTITIONERS

For

Managers, Human Resource practitioners and anyone involved in working with or managing payroll activities within their organisation that want to get a better understanding of what payroll actually involves.

Purpose

Payroll covers one of the largest costs any business has being the cost of labour. If Payroll is not managed, configured and monitored correctly it can become a major risk to the business in regard to legislative requirements and in meeting the terms and conditions of employment provided to employees.

For this reason, managers and other positions that interact with payroll need to have a greater understanding on what payroll actually does, and what it needs from the business to be effective.

This workshop will be practical in nature so participants can ask questions relevant to their environment and each participant will be provided with a comprehensive manual they can use back in their workplace.
